UH-10F

A perfect day for playing with the UH-10F

The modified UH-10F was one of my earlier builds. I made several modifications to the plans:

1. stretched 1 foot in length
2. upgraded to a 42″ thrust fan
3. shroud covering the thrust engine and reduction drive.
4. cockpit widened to 3 ft.
5. steering uses a Teleflex push-pull cable.

The thrust engine is a 13 HP Greyhound generator engine (electric start) with belt reduction turning a 3 blade 42″ Hascon fan. The lift engine is a 5.5 hp honda turning a 5 blade 24″ Hascon fan. Top speed on water is 20-25 mph.

I previously had a 21 HP vertical shaft engine, but the twists in the belt required to convert this power to a horizontal thrust fan proved more trouble than I wanted to deal with. The new belt drive uses a single 5V belt, with no twists, and the belt has never jumped the pulleys in this configuration.

See the links below for detailed construction pictures, and feel free to drop me a line if you have any questions.
