I was finally able to take the LSX out for the first time last weekend. There are a few small things that need to be tweaked, but I’m very happy with the overall design and results. The Generac 40 hp engine provides plenty of lift and the thrust is sufficient to propel the craft under it’s own power up the trailer at a 20 degree angle!
I intentionally kept the speed very slow the first time out as I found I needed more rudder throw, and I didn’t want to risk getting too close to all the bridge pillars in the area. The LSX is being flown with our aluminum-skinned rudders (currently available in kit form), and our new “Hover-by-Wire” electronic control system, which is in final development and testing. Stay tuned for more updates!
